Humpback Whales
I called them to me
in my heart
I felt them in my
belly—then
Through salty
labyrinths
They moved—
Rocketing up the
water column
Splashing into salt
air
then—
Crashing down
Before my astonished
eyes.
Their huge longing
had echoed off mine
Sonorous gorgeous
whale songs.
