Painting the blue river red

Staining the turquoise lake in

Sparkling shades of gold and yellow—

Splashing the beach sand and dunes

In flavors of lemon grape lime and

Wild cherry.

On my palette array

All luminous colors

Of the day I gazed

Until the sun went down.

Today is gray.
