Carolina Wren and Palmetto

My watercolor of the state bird of South Carolina: the Carolina wren.

My watercolor of a palmetto, the state tree of South Carolina.
Live oak with Spanish moss.  Very typical of South Carolina.

The pine cones of the long leaf pine are spiked.  This is another typical tree in South Carolina.  They grow very tall and their needles are very long. Animals that live in this pine forest habitat are the indigo snake, the red cockaded woodpecker and the gopher tortoise.
