The Green Man

The Green Man

It's good to see green things popping up after such a long cold winter.  Catkins dangle from trees.  Songbirds wake us at dawn.  The green man is here.

Now the leaves are green and new life is all around.

Today while walking in the cemetery I saw a white tail fawn hiding behind a huge beech tree.  It stood on its delicate legs and its white spots on brown fur shone in the dawn's light.  It thought I could not see it because its head was behind the tree.  As I walked around the tree very close I could see the sun shining through its pink ears and its bright black eyes.  The fawn folded its legs then and lay down in the thick roots of the beech tree.  I think it was only one or two days old.
