Time Alone.

When our kids were growing up I never had time for myself but now that they have flown the nest I do, although I miss them. So finally I have time for myself.  I write in my daughter’s room and I paint in my other daughter’s room.  But sometimes I write or paint outdoors.  I love nature so I capture it through my five senses.

I have written poems on the beach and in the woods.  I listen to the wind, the waves, bird songs, spring peepers.  I paint the colors of reeds and wild flowers and the sand dunes.  I love living in West Michigan. When I lived in East Lansing there was not much to inspire although I did go on Campus to draw and paint as a teen. Not much there.  I have always loved to write and to paint.  I remember writing my first poem at age seven.

I love to share what I have written so I enjoy Memory Writers at 4 Pointes.

I love to paint with others so I go to painting classes at 4 Pointes.

Frozen Niagara Falls

https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10152246761728151&set=a.10150719225333151.425767.181362508150&type=1

In 1911 Niagara Falls froze. They are frozen again.

Last night it was so cold that I wondered how the birds and animals outdoors could survive, yet the nuthatches, woodpeckers, chickadees and many other birds were refueling at our bird feeder this morning.  This cold spell has broken records.

It has been below zero F in many areas around the Great Lakes.  The link above shows Niagara Falls at the American side.

This is my watercolor of a nuthatch.
