Sun Down

Sun Down

Winking as it walks,

sun shafts sparkle

fish fins below.

Sun sings a low melody—

As billions of leaves tremble in the wind

As a loon’s tremolo shivers the lake

At sundown bathed in rose gold

We exalt in the afterglow.
