Frogs are Magical
If you kiss a frog
It could turn into a prince
But if you throw it against the wall
It will.
Frogs are that way.
They hatch in wetlands
Sometimes in trees
And the tadpoles swim around
And eat algae and grow
Their tails disappear slowly
Legs emerge slowly
Their little mouths widen slowly
Nostrils grow in place of gills—
They must have air
They frog kick to surface
They gasp.
They leap upon lily pads
Or a princesses’ beds
