Voladores Ceremony

The ancient peoples in Mexico had a ceremony that is still being replayed today.  There are five brave men that climb to the top of a pole, one in the middle and four that spin in circles..

If I read the symbolism right, it is a mandala: Heaven and Earth and a prayer.

There is a world tree and the men represent birds.  The man at the top plays a flute and a drum. The flyers circle the tree 13 times before they descend to Earth.
