I can remember years when the Great Lakes were frozen and we marveled at the ice that had formed on them. I believe this will be another year when the Great Lakes freeze. One year they froze all the way across. There was a thaw yesterday and this has made for hazardous walking on the beach. What may look like solid ice may surprise you with a chlly dunk in the water.
